The Challenge

Surface security features are the structural weakness of most currency programs. Labels, holograms, printed codes, and even generic luminescent tracers can be characterized over decades of public circulation, and reproduction equipment is now accessible to well resourced counterfeiting operations. Notes must also survive years of machine handling while remaining precisely readable at the throughput speeds of central bank processing systems.

Intelligent Material® is embedded into paper substrate, printing ink, or security fiber during the manufacturing process, making it intrinsic to the note rather than applied to its surface. There is nothing to strip, replicate, or source outside the certified supply chain. Verification uses optical spectroscopy calibrated to the material's spectral signature, fast enough for central bank note processing and sorting environments. Multiplexed signals support denomination and batch differentiation within the same infrastructure.
